This article will walk you through navigating common ezyVet challenges. Here's a guide outlining potential issues and their corresponding solutions for a smoother experience.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Common issues faced by clinics

1.Editing the Placeholder files (either contact or pet)

When a new booking comes through, particularly for a partially matched client, it's essential to edit the placeholder information rather than making changes directly to the act

To learn more about how this can be done, you can follow this article.

2. Booking on top of blocked out times

Another common issue is that a block off can have an INFINITE default end date that Vetstoria can’t read.

To fix this issue you will manually need to adjust all block offs to have an end date ( this can be 10 years in the future).

3. Booking on top of block offs that go across multiple columns

All block offs need to be resourced to the column they are in - not copy and paste the block or set the rule to block off multiple columns at once.

To fix this all you need to is always allocate the block offs to the appropriate resource.

4. Unable to navigate to clinical record for matched clients

Matched Vetstoria appointments do not have a clinical record associated with them. Therefore right clicking to add a weight or to start a history doesn’t work.

To resolve this issue, you will need to first double click and save and close - is the quickest solution - this generates a blank clinical record for that appointment.

Common technical errors

1. Mandatory Date of Birth

If you have set the backend settings to make DOB mandatory it has the potential to make some returning clients encounter an error when confirming the booking.

To fix this issue you will need to change settings to make DOB not mandatory in the ezyVet clinical setting. You can follow the steps below.

1. Go to the Admin settings

2. Navigate to the left side of your screen and select settings from the dropdown.

3. Select the Record Properties option from here.

4. Once you have selected Record Properties, select Properties: Animal from the list right below.

Note: If you do not see Properties: Animal listed, use the search bar to look for it.

5. If Date of Birth is ticked, please untick it and click on save.

2. Deactivated files

If there is a deactivated either client or patient file in the ezyVet clinical system - it will make it so that client is unable to book an appointment.

To solve this, all you need to do is click on the restore button on the client file.

3.  Changing the PIMS appointment type

If the clinic or group of clinics changes the name of the appointment that is mapped to Vetstoria - Vetstoria will be unable to ‘read’ that appointment type.
