How do I configure Slot Exclusions?

This article will help you set up customizable working hours of the specific clinic to accommodate the client’s specifications (depending on appointment types, applicable calendars, and/or species). How to label rules?

You have to enter the specific label (Eg: Working Hours) and then select “Add Label”

You can assign, the slot exclusions under the label created.

How to Configure working hours?

For example, if the clinic hours are from 9 am to 5 pm.

You have to enter as 00:00 - 08:59 and 17:01 - 23:59

You have to enter the specific days that this slot exclusion applies to;

Sunday through Saturday or Monday - Friday. It depends on how clinics have set it up.

Opening & closing hours - Weekend Slots

The available slots in Vetstoria should not go beyond the opening and closing hours of your clinic. Your weekend availability should be checked too.

How to configure other exclusion rules?

We can set up the slot exclusions depending on the appointment type, species applied and/or the applicable calendars/clinicians/clipboards. Anytime, we want to remove a specific slot exclusion, we can either delete the slot exclusion or deactivate the slot exclusion under the “Status” column. Given below are some typical use case examples of how different rules can be setup using slot exclusions: 

How to set up standard consultation hours for the clinic

• Create a label called "Standard Consultation Hours"
• Create a new rule (i.e Named: Weekdays ) to configure the consultation hours for weekdays.
• Create a new rule (i.e Named: Weekends ) to configure the consultation hours for weekends.

How to restrict bookings to Vaccinations appointments only

• Create a label called "Vaccination Appointments Only"
• Create a new rule (i.e Named: Restrict Other Appointments) to restrict all other appointment types except the Vaccination Appointment and label this under "Vaccination Appointments Only"

Setting species exclusions to create a cat only morning on Monday and Thursday

• Create a label called "Cat Only Mornings"
• Create a rule to prevent all other species from being able to book online on a Monday and Thursday Morning
• Create a rule to prevent cats to be able to book online after morning hours on a Monday and Thursday
• Group these two rules under "Cat Only Mornings"
• An example of the setup is shown to you below

Telemedicine only appointments

• Create a label called "Telemedicine Appointments Only"
• Create a new rule (i.e Named: Restrict Other Appointments) to restrict all other appointment types except the Telemedicine Appointment and label this under "Telemedicine Appointments Only"
