How To Setup Multi-Clinician on Merlin

Modified on Mon, 08 Aug 2022 at 10:20 PM

This article will walk you through the process of setting up a Multi-Clinician per calendar on your Vetspace Merlin system.

If your calendars are shared or rotated among several clinicians, you will have to place a unique code in your Vetspace Merlin columns to allow the safe identification of all the vets on Vetstoria.

The instructions below will guide you through this process:

  • Right-click on the slot before the first available appointment and 'Unavailable'.

  • Add the required code as shown in the example below. (Please note that the addition of the code will take up one appointment slot)
  • You will have to place a "$$" sign before the code (no space in between) to make sure the code is unique. For example $$DM
  • This code will need to be added manually for each day in the diary.
  • When a vet's shift ends and there is no vet taking over, you will have to block these slots off manually.
  • We identify each "code" into your Vetstoria platform and associate a vet name to it.
  • Example Scenario

Consider the following example. There are two clipboards ( Consult 1 and Consult 2) which are shared by 3 vets. This can be setup as follows:

Vet Name - (Working hours)

Clipboard

Code to be added

Dominic Ryder (14.00 - 14.40)

Esher Merlin

$$DR

Jackie Brown (15.00 - 16.00)

Esher Merlin

$$OF

Jennifer Simons (14.00 - 16.00pm)

Vet consults 1

$$JS

The print screen below shows how the aforementioned setup is emulated on Merlin.
