How do I add details of a Referral Booking in the PIMS Appointment Note?

This article will walk you through the process of setting up the referral appointment details in the appointment note in your PIMS.

Note:  This is only available for the Vetstoria Specialist version

Add the data fields required for the appointment note.


  1. Go to Settings -> System Messages
  2. Scroll to Appointment Note Format
  3. Add the following data fields (highlighted in bold) to the appointment note. 
    1. {{vet_name}}  - Name of Referring Vet
    2. {{vet_email}} -  Email of Referring Vet
    3. {{practice}} - Name of Referring Practice
  4. All the available data fields are shown on the right-hand side (Green means that this has already been added to the appointment note, black means this available to use)
  5. An example along with a print screen is shown to you below

    Pet Details: {{pet_name}} ({{species}}) - Appointment Type:- {{appointment_type}} - Vet Name:- {{clinician}} - Reason For Appointment:- {{appointment_reason}} - Referring Vet Details:- {{vet_name}}- {{vet_email}} -Referring Practice :- {{practice}}
