What are the different appointment types that can be displayed without the need for a clinic visit?

Here are a few ideas on alternative appointment types that don't require the client to visit your practice if you need to restrict visits as a result of the current COVID-19 situation.

Video Consultations

There are two scenarios which could be applicable to your practice:

  • Your practice will open up Video Consultations and other appointments to your clients
  • Your practice will open up only Video Consultations to your clients

Create a Video Consultation Appointment as  follows:

  1. Create an appointment type (i.e Video Consult) on your platform.
  2. Follow the steps in this article to integrate the video consultation link with this appointment type

Block certain / all appointments from being booked online


If you wish to block all other appointment types except the Video Consultation from being available online, then you will have to exclude all species per appointment type in your appointment type settings as shown below.

Your clients will then be shown only the Video consultation appointment in the booking process.

Create an appointment Requesting a Clinician Call back

Allow your clients to select an appointment type during the booking process, and the vet will call the pet owner at that time.

  1. Create an appointment type called Request Call Back
  2. Add a duration of your choice
  3. Include a message to your clients (I.e: One of our staff will call you back at the time of the appointment
  4. Save your changes. 

Create a Drive-through Appointment type

  1. Create an appointment type called Drive-through Consultation
  2. Include a message to your clients (I.e: Please arrive for the consultation 10 minutes prior to your appointment and give us a call on < clinic number> to let us know make and model of your vehicle along with the license plate number)
     

Create an appointment type for an Urgent Prescription Request

This appointment type will help cater to those that don't want to come to the clinic. i.e the elderly or individuals who are self-isolating. 

  1. Create an appointment type called Urgent Prescription Request
  2. Include a message to your clients (I.e: Please give us a call on < clinic number> to let us know the details of your request)
