How to enable booking from your Facebook account - Workarounds

Modified on Tue, 30 Jul at 11:07 AM

This article will walk you through a few options that you can use to incorporate your booking links for your clinic's Facebook page.

Given below are a few examples of the possible ways that you can use to add the booking links and direct pet owners to make a booking.

1. Adding a pinned post

Due to certain changes that Facebook is implementing, you may not see an option to use "book now" as the call-to-action button on your clinic's Facebook page. We recommend creating a pinned post and adding the booking link in the caption. Follow the steps below to do this.

1. Create a post

2. Copy the Facebook link from your Vetstoria platform

3. Paste the booking link onto your caption ( example shown below)

4. Once the link has been added to the caption, select the 3 horizontal dots on the top right corner of your post and select "pin post"

Note: If you want to shorten the booking link, you can use bitly.com to do this.

5. Once you have selected 'pin post', your post should appear at the top of the page as a featured post.

Visitors to your Facebook page can now click on the featured post that contains the Facebook integration link, which directs them to the booking tool.

2. Editing the action button

Although the book now button is not available on Facebook for some regions, you can still add alternative call-to-action buttons to direct pet owners to book an appointment with you.

1. Copy the Facebook link from your Vetstoria platform

2.  On the top of your Facebook page you should see 3 horizontal dots on the right side, click on "Add Action Button"

3. You can use either select "Contact us" or "Learn More" as a call-to-action to direct pet owners to book with your clinic.

If these options do not work for you, it may depend on the version of Facebook you are using. Feel free to go through our other articles for further reading.
