Excluding the Floating button from a Webpage

Modified on Thu, 6 Oct, 2022 at 10:58 AM

The Vetstoria floating button is integrated into your website's header (within the <Head> tag). This means the floating button will be loaded and be available on every webpage on your website.

It is not possible to exclude specific webpages from loading the Floating button from the Vetstoria side

So how would one exclude the floating button from a webpage? Simply it depends on how it is integrated. The floating button can be added to a website using the following methods:

  • Direct integration into a website's HTML
  • Integrating using a Content Management System like WordPress or Wix
  • Using Google Tag Manager

The following are the ways in which you can exclude specific webpages from loading the floating button:

Use Google Tag Manager

Integrate the floating button using Google Tag Manager (read more on this here). Once you have done the integration with Google Tag Manager follow the instructions here to exclude the pages you do not want the button to load.

To exclude the floating button from a webpage, simply do not add the floating button code to that page

If the Floating button is integrated using a Content Management System

As there are varied content management systems, in this article we focus on two popular systems.

- WordPress

If you are using a WordPress website, inserting the floating button directly in the Header section will result in the floating button being available on all the pages. In such instances using a Plugin such as 'Header Footer Code Manager' allows you to select which pages the button should load

- Wix

If you are using a Wix website, the platform provides the ability to not show the header on specific pages. Read more here
