How to configure the floating button on your website

Follow this guide on how to configure and install the Vetstoria floating button on your website.

Overview

Making sure that your pet owners know that you offer online booking, is key to encouraging engagement with your booking tool and call-to-action buttons.

The Vetstoria floating widget gives you an easy way to display that you offer online booking on every page of your website, so the call to action is always right there at their fingertips.

Configuration

You'll find the function located in your Vetstoria dashboard within Settings.

• Click Settings
• Click Floating Button

You have options to customize:

• Button Color
• Icon Color
• Button Size
• Prompt Dialog Text

Customize your look

Pick from a preset color, or enter your brands' specific hex code into the box provided.

You'll be able to see a preview on the bottom right.

Now adjust the size of the button to suit your website. (60px is suitable for most sites)

Next, customize the welcome message to suit the tone of your clinic. Just click in the box and adjust the wording.
(Remember to keep this short and sweet)

Note: There is a character limit of 50, and unfortunately, emojis are not supported.

Once done click Save

Previewing your widget

We have included the ability for you to preview how your widget will look on your website via desktop, tablet, or mobile devices.

Adjust the view using the icons as shown.

Website Installation

Once you are happy with your code, you are ready to install the widget onto your website and it couldn't be easier!

Click the tab 'Embed Code'

Embed Code Location

The widget code will need to be pasted into the header of your HTML page on your website, within the header.

Ideally, place this just before the </head> tag.

You can also insert the Floating widget button via Google Tag Manager. You can read more here

If you have a website admin, you will just need to provide them with the code shown in the 'Widget code' box.

Once the code has been inserted into your website, the button will automatically show. 

Updating your Widget

When your button is active on your website, you can easily and quickly make changes to the same customization settings without the need to adjust the code on your website.

Make any changes you require to:

• The colors
• The Size
• Or the Prompt Dialog Text.

When you are happy with the changes, click 'Publish' and your button will update.
