How do I Checkout Appointments?

This article will explain where and how you can perform a checkout for appointments that are eligible for payment processing.

What is Checkout?

A checkout, same as you would in an Amazon cart when you purchase a product, is the process a user will need to do to either secure the monies from a pre-authorized transaction, so you have that payment for a service you have provided, or to be able to make a request for payment for services that you have provided.

What appointments are eligible for a checkout? 

  1. Appointments which are Pending Pre-authorization
    The pet owner has booked the appointment and pre-authorized the booking fee.
  2. Appointments which are Pre-authorized
    The appointment has been booked but the pet owner has not pre-authorized the booking fee.
  3. Appointments which Request Payment has been turned off 
    This can be done when the Request Payment toggle has been switched off for an appointment type

How to perform a checkout?

Any appointment which is any of the above can be eligible for a Checkout. To perform a checkout, find the appointment which you want to process payment and click on Checkout.

1. Go to Appointments in your Navigational Panel to access your Appointments dashboard

What happens when I click on Checkout?


Top Tip:

The checkout process for Telemedicine and General appointments are exactly the same


Appointments which are "Pending Pre-authorization" 


  1. When you click on Checkout, the following screen will be shown to you
    1. The booking fee is pre-populated on the  ‘Fee to be charged’ text box, which is editable.
    2. The Pre-authorized amount is seen as zero since the amount hasn’t been pre-authorized by the pet owner.
    3. For the Confirm checkout button to be active you will have to click on or update the value field

  2. Since the booking fee has not been pre-authorized,  you can enter the amount to be charged. Once an amount is entered, the ‘Confirm Checkout’ button becomes active in blue color.

  3. Now click on Confirm Checkout, which will trigger a new payment request email to the pet owner. The checkout pop-up is will change to indicate that the payment is pending.

4. The pet owner will receive the following email with a link to pay for their consultation

Note:

For payments which are Pending Pre-authorization, you can define a charge lesser, higher, or equal to the booking fee in the Fee to be charged field.


Appointments which are "Pre-authorized"


  1. Since the booking fee has been pre-authorized,  you can adjust the charge if required. For the Confirm checkout button to be active you will have to click on or update the value field

  2. Once the fee has been defined, click on Confirm Checkout to charge the pet owner

  3. The checkout pop-up will change to indicate that the payment has been made successfully

  4. The pet owner will receive the following email confirming that their payment has been processed successfully.

Note:

For payments that are Pre-authorized, you can define a charge which is less than or equal to the booking fee in the Fee to be charged field.

Direct Charging an Appointment


Note:

This is only applicable when the ‘Request Payment’ toggle is Off for the appointment type or if the Appointment Fee field has either zero or no value.
These appointments are labelled as Pre-authorization Disabled

Define the fee to be charged. For the Confirm checkout button to be active you will have to click on or update the value field

Now click on Confirm Checkout, which will trigger a new payment request email to the pet owner. The checkout pop-up is will change to indicate that the payment is pending.


The pet owner will receive the following email with a link to pay for their consultation

Note:

For payments that are charged directly, you can define a charge of your choice.
