How do I create the "Online" appointment type in Shepherd?

This article will walk you through the process of setting up the "Online" appointment type in Shepherd.


As part of the Vetstoria setup, you will be required to create a new appointment type in Shepherd called "Online". 


Appointment types not mapped with a PIMS appointment will need a default appointment type to map with. 


To do this, please follow the steps below. 


  1. Log in to  Shepherd, and select ‘Admin’. Then, in the left-hand drop-down menu, select ‘Scheduling‘.



  2. Navigate to ‘Appointment Types’ and click ‘Add New’. The New Appointment Type screen will appear.


  3. You will be facilitated to create a new appointment type.

    1. Enter the Name of the appointment type as ‘Online’.

    2. Enter the Duration as ‘5’.

    3. Select the colour from the colour picker.

    4. Toggle ON ‘Send Appointment Notifications’ if required - and select the appropriate Appointment Type Notifications by using your other appointment types as a reference if you are not sure. 

    5. Click on the ‘Save’ button to save the changes.
